New York City Road Trip #3

A few more fun notes on my New York City Road trip. Of course, it is also documented with photos on flickr.

My hotel, Herald Square Hotel, was in the middle of "Korea Way" around w. 31st and Broadway, so of course I ate yummy Korean food:
--Bi Bim Bop with chopped seafood and rice in a hot hot earthenware bowl at Woo Chon, 8-10 W. 36th St.
--Yummy Korean pork dumplings in soup at Mandoo Bar.

And yummy Chinese food, cus I was in THE city.
--Wu Liang Ye, 338 Lexington Ave.
--Great NY Noodle Town, 28 Bowery

Treats:
--Happy coffee and a horseshoe shaped and sized almond cookie that was amazing at The Hungarian Pastry Shop.
--Coffe and chocolate cake at Juan Valdez coffee
--Brunch with a famous Star choreographer and her Parental Units at Westway Diner-Restaurant. Happy food and happy to catch up with the Oregonian peeps!

The sites:
--The Cathedral of St. John the Divine
--Children's sculpture garden, right next to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
--The North end of Central Park including the Ravine area in a downpour, the Harlem Meer, and the Conservatory Garden, all beautiful. Go to the Conservatory Garden if you can!
--The Met, modern art collection. Very good!
--A misstep of note: The New Museum of Contemporary Art has MOVED. It is at 556 West 22nd St at 11th Ave. Your guidebook may be out of date. Oops, didn't quite make it there, but I did find the MoMA Design Store in Soho at 81 Spring St. Awesome!
--I snuck into The Strand bookstore and only spent $12!
--At the end of the trip, I bought some new New Balance tennies cus my feetsies were killing me. I squeezed a lot into my 3 days!

Entertainment:
--2 nights of fabulous dance by the Tiffany Mills Company! If you have a New York Times online subscription, look for a review on June 3rd.
--Dinner with the choreographer, dancers, family and friends at The Film Center Cafe.
